The New Mega Construction Project Okan Tower – to be built by 2027

A groundbreaking ceremony was held last week for Okan Tower, and a completion date has been announced.

Building department records show that a permit for excavation/piles/site and soil improvement was issued on June 16, with Civic Construction listed as the contractor.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Francis Suarez, Binali Yildrim, Former Prime Minister of Turkey, Murat Mercan, Turkish Ambassador to the United States, Turkish Consulate of Miami Feyza Barutcu Altug, Burc Ceylan, Former Turkish Consulate of Miami, Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales, Commissioner Ken Russell, and Fortune International CEO, Edgardo Defortuna.

Okan will be a « megacomplex, » the developer said in a press release.

The development will include:

• 316-key Hilton Miami Bayfront Hotel
• 163 Sky Residences
• 236 short-term rental residences managed by Hilton
• 64,000 square feet of Class A office space

Top off height for the 70-story tower is planned at 902 feet, which is taller than any existing building in Florida.

The architect is Behar Font & Partners, with the tower’s curved façade inspired by the Turkish national flower, the tulip.

Completion is scheduled for 2026, the developers said this week.

New renderings of the Hilton Hotel planned inside the Okan Tower « megaplex » have been revealed.

The developers also announced they had passed rigorous new piling tests mandated by the City’s building code for supertall towers.

The Hilton will be located on levels 13 through 30 of the 70-story tower, and will include 316 keys.

The renderings show the lobby entrance, reception area, and lobby bar, with interior design by Adil Tunca.

The hotel will have three dedicated amenity levels including a pool, fitness center, spa, and meeting rooms with ballroom space.

Okan Tower will also feature 163 private residential condos, 236 short-term rental residences managed by Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and 64,000 square feet of Class A office space.

Architect Behar Font & Partners is designing the tower, with a curved façade said to be inspired by the Turkish national flower, the tulip (developer Okan Group originates from Turkey).

According to a press release yesterday, Okan Tower recently underwent rigorous new piling tests mandated by the City’s building code for supertall towers over the past few months. All pilings passed their tests and the next phase of pile drilling is underway. Okan will be one of Miami’s tallest towers at 902 feet, the release said.

Completion of the project is expected in 2027.
